Trustees work together as a board to set the strategic plan, develop policies, and provide oversight for their only employee, the Director of Education. This happens at board and committee meetings.

Trustees are also sometimes the first point of contact for community members who have concerns about school issues. While trustees do not direct the work of staff members, trustees can help you to navigate the TVDSB system by sharing information with you and by connecting you with staff members who can help you resolve your concerns.

 

Trustees may also your point of contact for unresolved or ongoing concerns. Knowing what issues are occurring in the community can help trustees see if a policy or procedure may need to be reviewed and inform future strategic plans.
